MONASTERY TOUR

Day 1

Arrival at the Sofia Airport. Transfer to the Hotel Princess 4* hotel. Accommodation and dinner.

Day 2 - Sofia

After breakfast we will make a sightseeing tour around Sofia, which includes the following sights: Boyana Church (included in the UNESCO World Heritage List) and the monastery of Kremikovtsi. We will have dinner and overnight in Hotel Princess.

Day 3 – Sofia – Sandanski

Departure to the town of Sandanski, situated in the south west part of Bulgaria. On our way we will visit the monasteries of Zemen and Rila (the most famous and the biggest in Bulgaria). In the afternoon arrival in the town of Sandanski, where we’ll have dinner and overnight in the hotel Interhotel Sandanski.

Day 4 – Sandanski – Melnik – Rozhen Monastery

After breakfast we will continue our journey to the smallest town in Bulgaria called Melnik, famous with its exquisite wines. Afterwards we will visit Rozhen Monastery. Return to Sandanski, where we have a free time for shopping.

Day 5 – Sandanski – Plovdiv

After breakfast we‘ll depart for the city of Plovdiv – the second biggest in Bulgaria. Sightseeing tour of the Old Town, which includes: houses – museums, Ethnographical Museum and the Roman Amphitheatre. Afterwards accommodation and overnight in hotel Trimontium Princess 4*, situated in the heart of Plovdiv.

Day 6 – Plovdiv – Veliko Turnovo

After breakfast departure for Veliko Turnovo. On our way we will visit the Bachkovo Monastery the second biggest and famous in Bulgaria and the Open Air Ethnographic Museum of Etura where our guests will have the opportunity to see some of the typical Bulgarian crafts. At the evening we will arrive in Veliko Turnovo, with the accommodation and dinner at Grand Hotel Yantra 4*

Day 7 – Veliko Turnovo – Arbanassi

After breakfast we will make a short sightseeing tour of Veliko Turnovo and Arbanassi with the visit of the Nativity Church called by the visitors the “Sistine Chapel of the Balkans” for its unique frescoes in the interior of the church. After that we will visit Dryanovo Monastery and get back to Veliko Turnovo. At the evening we will visit the Sound & Light Show.

Day 8 – Veliko Turnovo – Sofia

After breakfast we will continue our journey to Sofia. On our way we will visit the Trojan Monastery. At the evening we will arrive in Sofia where we’ll have a dinner in a typical Bulgarian restaurant with a folklore show (optional). Accommodation at the Hotel Princess 4*.

Day 9 – Sofia- Airport

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the return flight.
