Historic Tour
8 Days/ 7 Nights
Day 1 – Sofia:
Arrival at Sofia Airport. Dinner and overnight in hotel Princess 4* in Sofia.
Day 2 – Sofia:
Sightseeing of Sofia which includes: the cathedral church Alexander Nevski, the roman basilica church of St. Sofia, Boyana Church, National Historical Museum, the National Theatre, the former king’s palace, St. Nedelya Church and Banya Bashi Mosque. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 – Sofia – Pleven
Morning departure to Pleven. On the way - a visit to the Lavrov Museum Park, near the village of Gorni Dubnik, and the monument of the Finnish soldiers who fought for the liberation of Bulgaria. Lunch in the city of Pleven. In the afternoon sightseeing tour of Pleven and a visit to the Pleven’s Panorama , a memorial complex which was built to commemorate the Russian and Finish soldiers who fought against the Turks in the siege of Pleven during the Russian – Turkish war of 1877 – 1878, that gives a freedom to our country after 5 centuries of Turkish Yoke.
Day 4 – Pleven – Veliko Turnovo
After breakfast, departure to Veliko Turnovo (the last Bulgarian capital, before Sofia). On the way – stop over in the village of Gorna Studena, where the headquarters of the Finnish battalion had been located. Lunch in the City of Veliko Turnovo. After lunch - sightseeing tour of the city and viewing of the Sound & Light Show at the Fortress (optional, not incl. in the price). Dinner and overnight in the city.
Day 5 – Veliko Turnovo – Gabrovo - Kazanluk
After breakfast departure to Kazanluk the city in the valley of roses via Gabrovo. On the way – visit in the Museum village of Bozhentsi, The Museum of Humor and the Ethnographic Museum Etara. Lunch in Etara. After lunch – on the way to Kazanluk we will visit to the Shipka Monument, where one of the very important battles in the Russian- Turkish war took place. Dinner and overnight in the city of Kazanluk.
Day 6 – Kazanluk - Plovdiv
After breakfast a visit to The Thracian Tomb and The Museum of roses (in the 1st week of June, groups can participate in the Festival of Roses, special celebration of the gathering of the roses). We will continue our journey to Plovdiv. Lunch in Plovdiv. After lunch a tour of the old town visiting the ancient Roman Theater. Dinner in a typical folk restaurant. Overnight in Plovdiv.
Day 7 – Plovdiv - Sofia
After breakfast a visit to The Batchkovo Monastery. Departure to Sofia via Borovets – World Mountain Ski Resort. Lunch in Borovets. After lunch departure to Sofia. Free time Dinner
Day 8 – Departure from Sofia
After breakfast - free time for leisure and shopping around the numerous boutiques in the center, along Vitosha Boulevard - the famous shopping street.
After 12:00 – Bus transfer to Sofia Airport for departure flight.
